a sole proprietor performing since 03, my team is a small yet bountiful network of established partner vendors and indie consultants in the US and Canada. we refer directly, without finder or referral fees.
next, my team consists of your team. consultants and vendors would prefer to do it all and/or you be dependent upon them. not me. i would rather empower you and move on to my next challenge.
yet as i began to package my services into more of a framework and focused more on methodology than software, it became more practical to "clone myself" and "train my replacement."
like Chrissy Hynde, i came back to Ohio, i took a job as a part-time telephone interviewer for this little b2b market research company (Havill Consultants) in 1993 and thus began a career in consulting. my geeky side started re-emerging in 1995 & 1996 when i had to learn access, clipper, then sql for a project for Shell Oil Company. i'd never be the same.
my early days as a "jack of all trades" has morphed into a unqiue ability to "manage the exception" - the project you can not seem to get done.

half my age and hailing from a half a world away, dhaval completed his undergrad at the University of Toledo and joined Havill Consultants for his 3-year practical training period (july 2019 through july 2022), returning to UT for his masters in the fall of 2022.
our early days together were rough. consulting is a multi-discipline business, so i constantly found myself teaching him not only new skills, but how to look at the problem, how to find solutions, and then how to solve it. and the kid has some skills i can manage but don't wanna learn myself.
so, i started teaching dhaval differently. WWJD? dhaval, what would joe do? dhaval gets me so i pull this kid in as needed.
